A: Just like with any complicated system, it takes incremental learning and lots and lots of practice to become proficient. As with any knowledge, if you stop learning – you start to forget. As with any skill, if you stop practicing – you start to lose that “muscle memory.”
In fact, research shows that there is a correlation between the amount of time you spent learning a skill and how easy it is to pick it up again. For example, if you spent hours riding your bike as a kid, as the saying goes – once you get back on that seat, you remember it fairly quickly.
Conversely, if you learn something as an adult and maybe spend just a few months to a year doing it, you do not have the same number or strength in neural connections to draw on when you try to pick it up again later. This is the classic example of college students cramming for a test and doing well and then forgetting most of those answers even just a few days later.
Even with our years of experience, we’re still seeing NEW things happening in the market and the world all the time. And of course, every client brings with them UNIQUE situations that require innovative uses of our strategies.
